I am a spirited, educated
individual who is looking forward to the next chapter of my professional
Following college, I began
studying to be a Rabbi and an attorney. Since graduating Rutgers
University School of Law in Newark in 2002, I have practiced law at the Law
Offices of Jan Meyer. I received my rabbinic ordination (Smikhah) in
2004 from the Institute of
Traditional Judaism (AKA "The Metivta"), part of the Union for Traditional
Judaism (UTJ). Since receiving s'mikha (Rabbinic ordination) in 2004, I served as Rabbi of Temple Israel of Long Beach, New York for six years.
My educational experiences
provide me with a breadth of knowledge and skills that can be an asset to any
organization. I have practical experience in working with synagogues,
organizations, and businesses. My experience as a congregational Rabbi, member
of the Union for Traditional Judaism Board of Directors, and Chairperson of the
Union for Traditional Judaism Conference Committee and Planning Committee provide me with extensive
experience in event planning, organizational development, and resource
management. I have experience working with youth in Hebrew School,
Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and youth group settings.
My experience as a
practicing attorney has honed my intellectual skills and provided valuable
real-world experience. My legal practice has concentrated on insurance law
and insurance subrogation, which has given me the opportunity to litigate
matters including personal injury, contract disputes, and malpractice.
I am eager to find a
position where I can apply my skills and education in a way that
is both socially responsible and personally fulfilling. This position
may highlight my legal or rabbinic training, but would benefit from each facet
of my skills and experiences. Examples of positions of interest include
pulpits (Traditional Conservative, Orthodox), education, youth gruop, college, nonprofit
organizations, and public interest law.
